From the earliest Academies - Thomas Telford, Leigh and Djanogly, to the more recent - Harris Federation, Oasis and Ormiston Trust, Tribune are very fortunate to have key individuals in their Strategic Projects Team who have had direct experience in preparing these for new ways of learning, creative pedagogies and innovative curriculums.
Academies, and now University Technical Colleges (UTC's) in many ways, lead the way in using ICT to enrich learning and engage learners in new ways. From using the earliest generation of Tablet PCs and whole-school wireless in Nottingham in 2005 to giving every child an iPod in Bolton in 2010, Academies continue to sit at the cutting edge of maximising the role of ICT in education. Recent changes mean that whereas they can retain their independence, retaining the kinds of funding Academies had a few years back is no longer possible.
We have considerable experience of working with Academies and UTC's, from devising high-level strategies and guiding them through the initial stages, through to design, delivery and refresh. A core component of our business is the use of VDI in education to reduce ongoing costs and increase sustainability as well as reusing existing technologies and infrastructure.
