Main Features

Ease of use was the primary goal we set ourselves when we designed and developed Process Expert Professional. We are all too well aware that there are a lot of powerful applications out there, most of which are far too difficult to get to grips with. With this in mind, we set about creating an incredibly easy to use process mapping tool that can be taught in a day and can be used in any business sector.

By employing the concept of "multi-level mapping", Process Expert Professional allows you to create clear and concise process maps which are easy to understand.

Process Expert Professional makes it simple to add the correct documentation to the relevant stage of your process by simply dragging and dropping. You can add an unlimited number of reference documents to your process maps and they can be of any type at all. For instance, in the example shown here, the user has attached a couple of documents - including a Word file. Attaching reference documents to your processes will help ensure that your users always have the most recent revision of your documentation, exactly where they need it!

Adding Dynamic Data

Diagrams that explain how your processes work are fine, as far as they go but in order to understand how your business can be improved, it is vital that you understand both what you do, and what costs are involved. By attaching dynamic data to your process maps, Process Expert Professional helps you do just that.

Process Expert Professional allows for the definition of data that you require. It is a very simple task to add such items as costs, durations, delays and responsibilities, directly onto the symbols in the process maps. Once done, Process Expert Professional will  automatically calculate the totals of the relevant properties, without you having to do anything.

Process Expert Professional also allows you to define connections to external databases from which data can be retrieved. This allows you to assign responsibilities to tasks and, by importing data from your HR database, calculate the actual costs of each step in your process.

Once you've added your custom properties to your diagrams, Process Expert Professional will even plot critical paths through your process, visually highlighting any bottle-necks in your process.

Making use of your processes

Once you have completed mapping your processes, it is important to consider how best to get them into the hands of those people who need them. By far the easiest way of doing this is to make use of Process Expert Professional's innovative Web Publisher. This integral part of Process Expert Professional turns the maps that you've created into a series of navigable web pages, which you can place on a share drive, on your intranet or even on the world wide web! Process Expert Professional even offers you the facility to publish all of the relevant reference material at the same time. By doing this, you know that all of your staff will always be accessing the correct versions of all of your process-related documentation, and all from a central location.
